Appointed to the House of Lords in 1999, Lord Faulkner of Worcester was appointed a Lord in Waiting in the Whips' Office in June 2009. His responsibilities covered transport issues, Wales and climate change.
Following the General Election he has relinquished the post of Lord in Waiting, and has been appointed to the panel of members of the House of Lords who act as Deputy Chairmen of Committees
Mrs Teresa Ceesay, the recently retired manager of the seven stations between Oxford and Worcester on the Cotswold Line was presented with the MBE by Lt Col Patrick Holcroft, Lord-Lieutenant of Worcestershire at the Worcester Guildhall for services to the rail industry.
Her nomination for recognition was supported by the Prime Minister - the Cotswold line runs through his Witney constituency - and also myself as President of the Cotswold Line Promotion Group.
