Appointed to the House of Lords in 1999, Lord Faulkner of Worcester was appointed a Lord in Waiting in the Whips' Office in June 2009. His responsibilities covered transport issues, Wales and climate change.
Following the General Election he has relinquished the post of Lord in Waiting, and has been appointed to the panel of members of the House of Lords who act as Deputy Chairmen of Committees
With seven Worcester Polytechnic Institute Massachusetts students visiting Worcester for 7 weeks to work on community sustainability projects.
Also in the photo are Constance Clark, Associate Professor of History, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Katy Boom, Director of Sustainability, University of Worcester, are the academic advisor and sponsor for the projects.
This successful collaboration with a leading engineering university is being strengthened with a proposal to bring more students to Worcester next year.
